Identity Photography

- What is Identity?
How someone sees and portrays themselves.
- How does their work address identity?

It explore how people feel about themselves and things they may not show the world.
- What do you like about their work? (What do you admire about their work? Why did you choose it? What inspires you?)
I like the honesty and the rawness of their work.

What do you like about this genre of photography?
I like the different ways people can be captured.
- What do you dislike?
taking pictures of strangers.

- What kinds of portraiture are you drawn to?
minimal, shallow depth of field, cold colors

- What can the background communicate about the subject?
what they have in their life, how they are portrayed. a busy background shows a crazy hectic life, whereas a blurry blank background shows mystery.

- What are some reasons photographers might photograph their families?
They know a lot about the subject and they usually have access to the subject at most times of their life.

A Day in the Life Series

What is a day in your life?
I wake up, shower, get ready for school, go to school, come home, get a snack, do homework, and go to bed.
- Who and what surrounds you?
My family and friends and people at school.
- How can you share a new perspective?
No one really knows much about my life.
- How can you share a new vantage point?
I am showing what people don't usually see in my life.
- How can we make the common look uncommon?
Use compositional tools, perspective, and filters.
- How can we make the familiar new?
We can use the same tools named in the last question to show a new look on a familiar thing.
