Self-Portrait Series

 What makes a self-portrait a self-portrait?
     self-portraits use probs and imagery to show a person's identity and who they are as a person.

- Do self-portraits need to show a face?
    No, one does not need to show their face to show themselves, they can use parts of their body as well as imagery to show themselves.

- Why do artists create self-portraits?
   for a variety of reason, mainly to show emotions they feel or how they view themselves.

- How can self portraits express identity?
   they can use props, facial expressions, and body positions to convey an identity.

- What items do artists include to portray their identity?
    anything they feel shows their identity, for some, it is wigs or body makeup, or costumes, but some use subtle items in the background of their self-portraits

- What is your identity?
    not sure yet
- How can artists use personal and/or cultural symbolism in their self-portraits?
     they can use props or body makeup or body positioning. or they can convey symbolism through the way they take self-portraits. they can use a specific reflective surface to convey things.

- What item would you include in your self portrait that would give clues to your identity? 
      earbuds, art supplies, camera
- What 5 or more objects could you use as symbols in your self-portrait? 
    earbuds, art supplies, candy, camera, nature
- What would each symbolize? 
     Earbuds symbolize my love of music, art supplies because I love art, candy because I like candy, camera because I like taking pictures, and nature because I like nature.

- How do artists use color, line, texture or a specific media to create mood and show their personality in a self portrait?
     Warmer colors can be used to convey happiness, hot colors can be used to convey anger, cold colors are usually used to show sadness.
